Dangote Group, led by Aliko Dangote, has rolled out 1,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks in Lagos, Nigeria.

The company has invested ₦2 trillion in trucks and logistics, with 4,000 CNG trucks ordered from China for direct fuel distribution.

Dangote on Monday defended the move, stating that the trucks have created 24,000 jobs and will modernise Nigeria’s transport sector. He also announced plans to roll out electric vehicles by January 2026.

Dangote also highlighted Nigeria’s potential to become the largest global producer of fertiliser.

The company currently lifts 40,000 tonnes of diesel monthly and exports over 1.6 billion litres of fuel.
