Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has endorsed the Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccine, set to be introduced in October 2025 by the Federal Government alongside the Niger State Government and development partners.

In a statewide broadcast, he emphasized the dangers of measles and rubella, which can result in serious health issues for children.

Bago assured that the MR vaccine is safe and effective, advocating for its accessibility at all health facilities.

He urged parents to vaccinate children aged 9 months to 14 years during the campaign and announced its inclusion in the routine immunization schedule thereafter.
