Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has invited the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to audit the state’s financial records.
He Stated this when he declared open the 20th northern zonal accountant’s conference in Minna.
The partnership aims to set an example for other states, emphasizing transparency and fiscal discipline as necessary tools for good governance and unlocking Nigeria’s socio-economic potentials.
The governor stressed the need for accountability, rebuilding trust, fostering national values, and stimulating economic growth.
ICAN president Mallam Haruna Nma Yahaya expressed delight with the partnership and assured ICAN would be independent in carrying out the task.
