Dignitaries from Nigeria’s political and diplomatic sectors gathered in Abuja to honor the late former Head of State, Murtala Muhammed.
The ceremony highlighted his brief but impactful leadership from 1975 until his assassination in 1976.

Organizers emphasized Muhammed’s strong anti-corruption measures, decisive reforms, and commitment to national discipline during his 200-day tenure, which included dismissing over 10,000 corrupt officials, creating seven new states, and planning a transition to civilian rule.
