The Federal Government has launched the Safe Nigeria Initiative, aimed at empowering youth and addressing the socio-economic causes of insecurity.
Coordinated by the National Counter Terrorism Centre, the program seeks to support over 11,000 vulnerable youths across Nigeria through vocational skills training, psycho-social services, and civic education.
National Coordinator Maj.-Gen. Adamu Laka emphasized the need for preventative measures against violent extremism, while the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Mrs. Delu Yakubu, noted the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on skills development and social cohesion.
Other officials echoed the importance of sustainable investment in youth empowerment as a means to enhance national security and ensure long-term stability.
