A delegation from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) and the management of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery have arrived in Abuja for a reconciliation meeting with the Federal Government.
The union and the refinery are at odds over unresolved labour issues.
The union has barricaded the premises of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in Abuja, in response to the alleged illegal sacking of over 800 Nigerian workers by the Dangote refinery.
The refinery has denied the allegations and defended the recent reorganisation as aimed at preventing sabotage and boosting operational efficiency.
