President Bola Tinubu has nominated General Christopher Musa, a former Chief of Defence Staff, as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence following the resignation of Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.
In a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Tinubu highlighted Musa’s extensive experience and leadership qualities, particularly in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.
The 58-year-old decorated officer, recognized for his service from 2023 to 2025, has held various strategic military roles and was pivotal in counterterrorism efforts in the North-East.
The President expressed confidence in Musa’s ability to enhance Nigeria’s security architecture.
