Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has advocated for stringent measures against informants who aid bandits, stressing their role in terrorist attacks during a visit to the Emir of Borgu.
He highlighted ongoing efforts by security forces, in coordination with the state government, to rescue abducted school children from St. Mary’s Catholic Schools.
The governor urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and warned against religious intolerance.
The Emir praised Bago’s leadership and called for government action to reclaim bandit-infested areas.
Minister Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi supported the governor’s stance and commended federal responses to the crisis.
