Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has urged the Fulani race to embrace cattle ranching for improved livestock and to combat insecurity caused by farmer herder clashes.
Bago emphasized the importance of cattle ranching as a means to generate more income through value chain production.
He praised the efforts of the Madako Foundation for conflict resolution and empowerment, which has helped improve the lives of Fulanis in the state.
Bago also encouraged the enrolment of children into schools and called on the learned Fulanis to improve nomadic schools.
The Madako Foundation, established after a neurological disorder case, supports families with special needs children, school dropouts, conflict resolution, and empowerment.
Also, the Taraba State All Progressives Congress Chairman, IbrahimTukur El-Sudi, praised Bago’s support and passion for empowering the Fulanis.
The Madako Foundation’s efforts in promoting school enrollment are in line with the state government’s efforts to construct school buildings in Fulani settlements.
