Farmers Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago hosted an end-of-the-year dinner for the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Niger State Council and local media practitioners at the Government House in Minna.
The event aimed to appreciate journalists for their support and to foster improved relations between the government and media.
Bago also introduced the new Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Mr. Obed Nuhu Nana, who pledged to strengthen the relationship.
The gathering was highlighted as a beginning of enhanced partnerships, with plans for a media summit approved by the governor.
A prayer was offered for peace in Niger State and Nigeria.
