Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has presented a 2026 appropriation bill totaling over N1.031 trillion, referred to as the “Budget of Consolidation.”
The budget allocates over N270 billion (26.19%) for recurrent expenditure and above N761 billion (73.81%) for capital expenditure.
It will be financed through various revenue sources, aiming to address current challenges while building on past accomplishments.
Key focuses include economic growth, agricultural transformation, health sector strengthening, road infrastructure, education improvements, and enhanced revenue generation.
Governor Bago emphasized fiscal discipline and strategic investments and urged the State Assembly to pass the bill promptly for the benefit of Niger State.
The Speaker of the House echoed the commitment to support governance and expedite development.
