Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has signed the 2026 budget into law, totaling over N 1.073 trillion, an increase from the initial proposal of N 1.031 trillion.
The budget allocates more than N 783 billion for capital expenditure and over N 290 billion for recurrent expenditure.
During the ceremony, Governor Bago praised the 10th State Assembly for their timely passage of the budget and commended Hajiya Aishat Teni Usman and her team for their efforts.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, also lauded the budget for its quality and ease of scrutiny, highlighting the collaboration between the Assembly and the Executive.
