Niger State Government has ordered the closure of all public and private primary and secondary schools in response to a recent kidnapping incident at St. Mary’s Catholic School.
Governor Bago announced the decision after a security meeting, emphasizing that Missionary, Islamic schools, and Federal Government Colleges are included in the shutdown until further notice.
Tertiary institutions remain open, except in vulnerable areas.
The governor urged security agencies and community leaders to focus on rescuing the kidnapped children, while the total number of abducted children is still being determined by security forces.
This action reflects the government’s commitment to safeguard citizens’ lives and property.
