Niger State Governor and President of the Minna Polo Club, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has advocated for the use of Polo as a platform to provide scholarships to children of the less privileged in society.

The governor made a donation of N50m to the Minna Polo Club, expressing gratitude for the younger generation’s interest in the game and calling on other corporate organizations to support children of the downtrodden through sports as part of their corporate social responsibility.
The Governor’s son, Marwan Bago, was part of the Bago Farms team that won the high level category of the Governor’s Charity Polo tournament.
All players from the runners-up and winning teams were presented with awards for their remarkable efforts.
