Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has performed a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) training centre in Minna.
The centre, named after the farmer governor, will benefit existing and potential accountants and promote development in the state.
Bago announced a seed donation of N150 million for the construction and announced 1,000 housing units to further develop the area.
The ICAN President, Mallam Haruna Nma Yahaya, praised Bago’s support and assured him that his investments would yield positive results.
The training centre will train students unable to get admission into tertiary institutions on the accounting technician scheme of West Africa.
