Nigeria and 144 other UN General Assembly members have passed a resolution allowing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to address high-level debates via pre-recorded video, following the US refusal to issue visas for Palestine’s delegation.
The resolution sets out procedures for delivering pre-recorded statements and allows statements via live link or pre-recorded video to high-level conferences.
The measures apply only to the current 80th session.
The US Department of State has resisted denying and revoking visas for Palestine Liberation Organisation and Palestinian Authority members.
