Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, visited the people of Essa, Katcha local government area, following a tanker explosion that claimed many lives and injured several others.
Bago expressed condolence for the loss of lives and urged the community to focus on contributing to the nation’s development.
He announced a donation of N1m to the families of the deceased victims and N500,000 to the injured victims receiving treatment.
The governor also announced that the president of Dangote Group, Alh. Aliko Dongote, has promised to fix the road from Mokwa-Lambata and plans to build a new primary healthcare center in Essa Community.
The Katcha Local Government Council Chairman, Zubairu Mohammed Essa, praised the state government’s assistance, particularly the free medical services, and expressed gratitude for the gesture.
