Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, announced that troops have located the schoolgirls abducted on Monday in Kebbi State.
Twenty-five students from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School Maga were taken by bandits, with one student managing to escape.
Matawalle reported progress in the rescue efforts since the deployment of security agencies, emphasizing the need for community cooperation.
President Bola Tinubu instructed Matawalle to oversee operations in Kebbi following the abduction.
Mass abductions of schoolchildren in North-western Nigeria continue to be a critical issue, with another incident involving over 300 children occurring in Niger State.
